Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR)
Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) is a tool that helps companies identify their social and environmental impacts, as well as the opportunities to reduce those impacts. The purpose of BRSR is to provide stakeholders a complete picture of a company’s sustainability performance, including its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impacts.
BRSR typically includes information on the company’s sustainability strategy, goals, and initiatives, as well as its performance in areas such as environmental impact, human rights, labor practices, community engagement, and ethical conduct. The reporting can take various forms, including annual sustainability reports, integrated reports, and stand-alone sustainability reports, and may be governed by various standards, such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and the Integrated Reporting Council (IRC).
BRSR is increasingly seen as a key tool for companies to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, as well as to build trust and transparency with stakeholders. It also assists businesses in identifying and managing sustainability risks and opportunities, as well as improving their long-term sustainability performance.
